Most souvenir building replicas represent a single building. Others are ‘cityscapes’ or compilations of many buildings in a particular city. Many times, the buildings are not to scale nor is the souvenir an accurate depiction of the city, rather the replica features famous landmarks. Over the years, I’ve had many such cityscape building replicas of New York City. Recently, I’ve noticed they are different in sometimes subtle ways. Most have the Empire State Building and Statue of Liberty. Some also include the Brooklyn Bridge, Rockefeller Center and even the United Nations Building. Another NYC souvenir is of Chinatown complete with a dragon encircling the buildings. Other cityscape replicas include Montreal, Toronto, Boston, Paris, D.C. and Tokyo. Do you know of other cityscape souvenir buildings? Send me a note or some photos to the email address found in the ‘complete profile’ link.
