Friends of mine, who know of my souvenir building collection, showed me two London-themed mechanical banks they received as gifts a few years ago. Made of cast iron, the Tower Bridge and Palace of Westminster coin banks shoot a coin into a slot ostensibly to make saving money fun. I searched for the source to buy these miniature metal replicas made by a company called Bits and Pieces, but they don't seem to offer these any longer. Bits & Pieces still produce other coin banks. The nickname 'Big Ben,' really refers to the great bell of the clock at the north end of the Palace of Westminster in London, but is name is often extended to the clock or the clock tower as well.
