Americans
know the best thing about a box of Cracker Jack caramel popcorn is the prize.
Same can be said for the German candy maker Kinder. A Kinder Surprise is a
hollow chocolate egg with a toy hidden inside. Both Kinder and Cracker Jack toys
can either be plastic or metal. An eBay listing said, “According to Larry White's
The Prizes of Cracker Jack publication from 2010, there was a sub-category
of snap together toys that consisted of buildings and monuments. The very small plastic toys
came in two pieces and could be snapped together. I’ve seen Cracker Jack replicas
of the Taj Majal, White House and a factory building. Kinder buildings and
monuments, below, seem to be metal. Naturally, there are people who collect toys from
both treats including the Cracker Jack collectors Association.

That is just so cool. I never got any prize as nice as a building! (And I really did like the candy coated popcorn and peanuts). Joe K.
