While the coin bank favorites of building collectors are the
3-D replicas of actual bank buildings, some Banthrico designs take the “coin” and “bank” literally. Have you seen these metal banks with
embossed buildings and a super-sized halo of a coin? Jim Redwine refers to them as “Disk banks.” Made by
Banthrico, examples include the Portland Trust Bank, The American National Bank
and Trust Co. in Kalamazoo, Michigan., Broadway National Bank in Nashville,
Tenn., and the Holy Redeemer Church in Flint, Michigan. Do you collect these
type of disk – building banks?
